Premium
£20a year
Claiming your circuit spot, Team Up, and the full picture of anyone you might play.
Everything free, plus
- See the full profile of any player with an account: history graph, match record, head-to-heads
- Find a partner with Team Up
- Claim a qualifying circuit spot
- Higher waitlist priority
What Premium adds
- The full profile of any player with an account: history graph, match record, head-to-heads
- Every match behind their number, so you know what you are agreeing to before you agree to it. In the player directory this is the difference between seeing their exact rating and only their band.
- Team Up partner finder
- Say when you play, where, and the level you are looking for. Interest goes both ways, and neither of you sees the other’s contact details until you have both said yes.
- Claiming a qualifying circuit spot
- Finish in the qualifying places and the spot is offered to you; claiming it is the Premium half. Earning it is not: circuit points come from finishing positions, and entering earns nothing.
- Disclosed waitlist priority
- When an event fills, Premium sits higher on the waitlist, and the event page says so, on the page, before you enter. It is the one advantage Premium carries over another player, and it is never a hidden one.
The boundary around it
What Premium never does
It never moves your rating.
A rating is a replay of countersigned results and nothing else. There is no premium arithmetic, no boost, and no setting.
It never buys you into a draw.
Who is in an event is the organiser’s decision and the band cap’s. Disclosed waitlist priority is the only ordering Premium touches, and the event page shows it before you enter.
It never sits between you and a tournament.
Entering, playing, being scored and holding a rating are free at every tier. Your entry fee goes to the organiser directly. It never passes through My Pila at all.
What stays free
Your rating, your record, who played what, and everyone else's basics.
- Who played, by name, and every result
- Your own rating, and every match behind it
- Other players' basic profile: name, band, verified badge
- A verified badge once your rating settles
Questions
Do I have to pay to enter tournaments?
No, never. Your free account already includes who played, by name, and every result, your own rating, and every match behind it, and other players' basic profile: name, band, verified badge. Entering a tournament and paying the organiser happens entirely outside My Pila. There is no toll on participation at any tier, and there never will be. Premium only adds depth on top: other players’ full profiles (including their exact rating in the player directory, which stays open to everyone at a band), Team Up, and the circuit.
What happens if I cancel?
Nothing right away. Access runs to the end of the year you already paid for. After that, the Premium surfaces close, but nothing is deleted: your stats and history resume exactly where they left off if you resubscribe. If you cancel within 14 days of paying, you get a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; after that, cancelling stops the next renewal. The details are in our terms.
Does an organiser need Premium to run events?
No. Premium attaches to your player account. Running events costs nothing.
Do I need Premium to be on the circuit?
No. Circuit points come from finishing positions in ordinary tournaments, and every player earns them at every tier. You are on the leaderboard whether or not you pay. Premium is needed for one thing only: taking up a qualifying spot when the cycle ends. If you qualify without Premium, the spot is still offered to you first, and if you do not take it, it rolls down to the next player.
What happens to Premium if I change my email or sign in with Google?
Nothing. Premium is attached to your My Pila account, not to an email address or a way of signing in. Change your email, or switch between the email code and Google, and your subscription, its renewal date and everything it unlocks carry on exactly as before. If you ever find yourself with two accounts, sign in with the one you paid from: Premium follows that account.
